Argan Oil hails from North Africa and was discovered by the Amazigh or Berber tribe nearly one thousand years ago. The Argania spinosa or argan tree is significant in the climatic landscape of Morocco as it keeps the largest subtropical desert in the world, the Sahra, at bay. The trees also serve as a source of vital income for the women that handcraft the oil; we have worked with our cooperative for six years paying fair wages and producing oil in small batches.
Culinary Argan Oil is rich in vitamin E, antioxidants, and fatty acids and can be used like olive oil. Enjoy it as a finishing oil on grilled vegetables, drizzled on pasta, salads, or used for sautéing. In addition, it's fantastic for dipping bread or enjoying with your favorite blueberry jam-use it in savory or sweet dishes.
